- ELIZABETH PARISH CELEBRATES THE FEAST DAY OF ITS PATRON SAINT, SAINT ELIZABETH OF HUNGARY. We ask for St. Elizabeth’s intercession for the Hungarian nation, for peace, solidarity, compassion and mercy. We wish the parishioners a blessed celebration, and that they may celebrate for many more years to come the feast day of the first Hungarian church in North America.
NEW YEAR’S EVE AT ST. EMERIC’S: As indicated earlier, we will be bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new in our church hall December 31. Dinner menu: Appetizers (cold) including potato salad, vegetable salad, stuffed eggs, meatballs, chicken nuggets, followed by main menu of Pork roast in the Bakonyi mode with mashed potatoes and cod fillets in lemon sauce with rice. Dessert tiramisu. After midnight lentils and sausage. The price includes an aperitif drink and champagne. You may bring own drinks. Cost is $50. For adults, $25. For students and children under 10 free. Children are welcome. Music by DJ Laszlo Bohar. During the evening and included in the admission price, there will be drawing for cash prizes. Year End Service and New Year’s Eve Party: On Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Walton Hills will hold the Year End Service and at 7.00 p.m the New Year’s Eve Party. The menu is: Appetizer, Temesvári Pork Roast with mashed potatoes, Beef Paprikas with dumplings, Dessert. After midnight: bean soup, lencsefőzelék, (lentil), virsli, (sausage). Music by Hegedeos Band (members of 4) Special raffle before midnight. First prize: LED TV. Second prize: Laptop. Third prize: Tablet. And many more great prizes! The ticket price is $48 before December 15th, and $50 after December 15th for adults and $12 for children, ages 10-16 years. (Party of 8 or more people $45 each before December 15th.)
