NEW YEARS DAY, SOLEMNITY OF MARY, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. As a mother holds her child’s hand, Our Heavenly Mother holds our hands and guides us throughout the year. May we never withdraw our hand from hers. Let God’s will be done. May we never lose our relationship with God.
NEXT SUNDAY, EPIPHANY OF THE LORD. At the beginning of Mass the water will be blessed, and you may take some home if you wish.

DOUGHNUT SALE: Ladies of the altar Guild are baking the traditional Hungarian doughnuts – FÁNK- for sale. Please order your doughnuts by January 12 by calling one of the ladies listed . Cost is $12. a dozen and can be picked up Sunday, January 14 before or after the 11 AM Mass. Also, that SUNDAY after Mass we will serve doughnut breakfast (2 doughnuts and coffee) for $4. GOOD WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR: At the dawn of the New Year, as people awake, they the wonder what the future will bring, they think about their hopes and dreams. But on this morning I would like to tell them not to wish for love or happiness, riches or power, good health or a long life. I would like them to fold their hands in prayer, and send this plea to God: Lord, before the time of harvest arrives, let my soul be ready!
