A summary for our longtime St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church<\/em><\/strong> parishioners, alumni and friends who may not be fully aware of the new arrangement for our church.<\/p>\n

Over the past number of years, we have experienced a decline in attendance\u00a0at our single Sunday Bi-Lingual Mass\u00a0due to the aging of our parishioners, yet we noticed a strong desire by some people for the Latin Mass that was said here on Saturday mornings. Then, earlier this year, The Institute of Christ the King the Sovereign Priest (an order from outside of Cleveland dedicated to saying the traditional Latin Mass) asked the Bishop if there was a suitable place that might house them to provide a daily and Sunday Latin Mass for the people of our diocese.\u00a0Our church seemed like a good fit and a suitable use for our beautiful building.\u00a0 It also ensured the upkeep and maintenance of our heritage church as those responsibilities would be assumed by the Institute in exchange for use of our facility while we retained ownership.<\/p>\n

To accommodate this transition, the Bishop permitted us to merge our parish with St. Emeric into a single Catholic Hungarian parish where an English and a Hungarian\u00a0\u00a0Mass is celebrated each Sunday.\u00a0Furthermore, in his decree the Bishop, stated:\u00a0 “I hereby establish at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church a\u00a0diocesan shrine<\/b>\u00a0for the promotion of the Christian heritage of the Hungarian people as well as for divine worship according to the liturgical books in use\u00a0prior to the reform of 1970.”<\/div>\n

Though this change will have us come together here at the church on only special occasions throughout the year, you are welcome to come here to pray at any time. Those with connections to this church may celebrate some sacraments and funerals here as well (in coordination with the rector, the shrine\u2019s schedule and myself).<\/p>\n

(1)<\/strong> Vas\u00e1rnap, szept. 24-\u00e9n, a Krisztus Kir\u00e1ly Szuver\u00e9n Papi Int\u00e9zet (sokan csak \u201cInt\u00e9zetk\u00e9nt\u201d emlegetik \u0151ket) megkezdi a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet Kegyhely igazgat\u00e1s\u00e1t. Szeptember 24-t\u0151l James Hoogerwerf kanonokot nevezt\u00e9k ki a kegyhely \u00faj rektor\u00e1nak, ami azt jelenti, hogy az \u00e9n megb\u00edzat\u00e1som a kegyhely rektorak\u00e9nt v\u00e9get \u00e9rt. Hoogerwerf kanonokot egy szeminarista k\u00eds\u00e9ri, aki a liturgi\u00e1ban \u00e9s a kegyhely k\u00f6r\u00fcl fog seg\u00edteni. (3)<\/strong>\u00a0Mivel m\u00e1r nem vesz\u00fcnk r\u00e9szt k\u00f6zvetlen\u00fcl a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet Kegyhely lelkip\u00e1sztori \u00e9s anyagi igazgat\u00e1s\u00e1ban, a tov\u00e1bbiakban nem adjuk ki a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet \u00e9rtes\u00edt\u0151 lapot (bulletint). A pl\u00e9b\u00e1ni\u00e1nk bulletinj\u00e9ben tov\u00e1bbra is k\u00f6zz\u00e9 fogjuk tenni az ottani, minket \u00e9rint\u0151 \u00fcgyeket, de a kegyhely bulletinj\u00e9nek kiad\u00e1sa mostant\u00f3l az Int\u00e9zet feladata.<\/p>\n

Tudom, hogy ez sokunk sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra szomor\u00fa \u00e9lm\u00e9ny, de nem hagyjuk magunk m\u00f6g\u00f6tt a Szent Erzs\u00e9betet. Alkalmank\u00e9nt visszat\u00e9r\u00fcnk oda mis\u00e9zni, \u00e9s k\u00f6z\u00f6ss\u00e9gk\u00e9nt \u00f6sszej\u00f6v\u00fcnk. K\u00f6sz\u00f6n\u00f6m mindenkinek, aki seg\u00edt ebben az \u00e1tmeneti id\u0151szakban. M\u00e9g sok munka van h\u00e1tra, hogy a templom, a par\u00f3kia \u00e9s minden k\u00e9szen \u00e1lljon az \u00e1tad\u00e1sra.<\/p>\n

Mivel tov\u00e1bbra is k\u00e9t istentiszteleti hely\u00fcnk van, gyakorlati okokb\u00f3l a k\u00e9t hely adminisztr\u00e1ci\u00f3j\u00e1t k\u00fcl\u00f6n tartottam. Most, hogy egy k\u00f6zponti istentiszteleti helysz\u00ednen fogunk m\u0171k\u00f6dni, \u00f6sszevonjuk \u00e9s k\u00f6zpontos\u00edtjuk az adminisztr\u00e1ci\u00f3 k\u00fcl\u00f6nb\u00f6z\u0151 aspektusait. \u00cdgy p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul \u00f6sszevonom a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet pl\u00e9b\u00e1nia tagjainak list\u00e1j\u00e1t a Szent Imr\u00e9vel. K\u00e9rj\u00fck, hogy a vas\u00e1rnapi szentmis\u00e9k ut\u00e1n itt a Szent Imr\u00e9ben Peller Ildik\u00f3hoz forduljanak bor\u00edt\u00e9kok\u00e9rt. \u0150 a Szent Istv\u00e1n teremben lesz (a templom \u00e9szakkelletti sark\u00e1ban).<\/p>\n

(3)<\/strong> Csak eml\u00e9keztet\u0151\u00fcl…Mivel a Szent Imre pl\u00e9b\u00e1nia b\u00e9rbe adja a kegyhelyet a Krisztus Kir\u00e1ly Szuver\u00e9n Papi Int\u00e9zetnek, \u00e9s nem fogja tov\u00e1bb adminisztr\u00e1lni a napi m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9st, a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet Kegyhelyr\u0151l \u00e9rkez\u0151 h\u00edveket k\u00e9rj\u00fck, hogy a csekkeket a \u201eSt. Emeric Church\u201d c\u00edmre \u00e1ll\u00edts\u00e1k ki. A Szent Erzs\u00e9bet-templom t\u00e1mogat\u00e1s\u00e1ra l\u00e9trehozott vagyonkezel\u0151i alap tov\u00e1bbra is fennmarad, \u00e9s a kegytemplom t\u0151kejav\u00edt\u00e1saira korl\u00e1toz\u00f3dik. Imr\u00e9t \u00faj lelki otthonukk\u00e1 teszik.<\/p>\n

B\u00e1r a k\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00e9nyek, amelyek miatt \u00f6sszej\u00f6tt\u00fcnk, tal\u00e1n nem a legboldogabbak, m\u00e9gis \u00fagy gondolom, hogy \u00edgy jobban felk\u00e9sz\u00fclt\u00fcnk arra, hogy nagyon sok\u00e1ig meg tudjuk \u0151rizni a magyar katolicizmust Clevelandban. Ahogy az el\u0151z\u0151 \u00e9rtes\u00edt\u0151ben is jeleztem, megkezdt\u00fck a m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9s \u00f6sszevon\u00e1s\u00e1t, de ez a folyamat m\u00e9g n\u00e9h\u00e1ny h\u00e9tig nem z\u00e1rul le. Egyel\u0151re a miserendet v\u00e1ltozatlanul folytatjuk. Mivel azonban a kegyhelyet k\u00e9s\u0151bb az elj\u00f6vend\u0151 vall\u00e1si rend fogja igazgatni, a mis\u00e9k \u00fajra szab\u00e1lyoz\u00e1sra ker\u00fclnek, \u00e9s lehet\u0151s\u00e9g ny\u00edlik egy mise hozz\u00e1ad\u00e1s\u00e1ra is. K\u00e9rem, ossz\u00e1k meg velem gondolataikat a j\u00f6v\u0151beli miserend\u00fcnkkel kapcsolatban. Tov\u00e1bb\u00e1, \u00e1tmenetileg csak egy bulletint fogok k\u00e9sz\u00edteni mind a pl\u00e9b\u00e1niatemplom, mind a kegyhely sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra. Amint a kegyhelyet a vall\u00e1si rend fogja igazgatni, \u0151k lesznek felel\u0151sek a kegyhelyi bulletin\u00e9rt.<\/p>\n

Amint azt n\u00e9h\u00e1ny h\u00f3nappal ezel\u0151tt bejelentett\u00fck, a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet templom neh\u00e9z helyzete sz\u00fcks\u00e9gess\u00e9 tette \u00e9s feler\u0151s\u00edtette a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet templom \u00e9s a magyar \u00f6r\u00f6ks\u00e9g hossz\u00fa t\u00e1v\u00fa megment\u00e9se m\u00f3djainak a keres\u00e9s\u00e9t. Egy egyh\u00e1zmegy\u00e9nkben szolg\u00e1lati helyet keres\u0151 szerzetesrend egybees\u0151 terv\u00e9vel siker\u00fclt megtal\u00e1lni a jelenlegi helyzetre a legjobb megold\u00e1st (nem a mindenkit kiel\u00e9g\u00edt\u0151 t\u00f6k\u00e9leteset, hiszen az lehetetlen). <\/span><\/p>\n

A Szent Imre templom megtartja pl\u00e9b\u00e1niai c\u00edm\u00e9t. A k\u00f6zelj\u00f6v\u0151ben egy szerzetesrend \u00e9rkezik \u00e9s \u00e1tveszi a Szent Erzs\u00e9bet kegyhely napi m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9s\u00e9t, bizonyos kiv\u00e1lts\u00e1gokkal a magyar katolikusok sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra. <\/span><\/p>\n

A k\u00f6zz\u00e9tett dokumentumok ennek az \u00e1tmenetnek az els\u0151 szakasz\u00e1ra vonatkoznak.
