St.EMERIC PARISH HARVEST FESTIVAL DINNER –OCTOBER 9, 12:45 PM, sponsored by the Altar Guild. Menu: cream of butternut squash soup, stuffed cabbage, chicken cordon bleu, buttered parsley potatoes, coffee, and the dessert is a unique specialty called “vargabéles” with juicy harvest raisins and raspberry coulis. Dinner is $20., students $12., and for children under 7 free. Take-out stuffed cabbage rolls can be ordered in advance at $2. each or 6 for $10. Dinner reservations and stuffed cabbage orders must be made by Wednesday, October 5, by calling one of the ladies:
NEXT SUNDAY OCTOBER 2 we will remember the Hungarian Bishop, Áron Márton (1896-1980), who was a victim of communist persecution in Transylvania and by his exemplary behavior is a model for all persons of faith. We will light candles in his remembrance followed by a 25 minute documentary film and light agapé in our church hall.
COMMEMORATION OF THE 1956 HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION-OCTOBER 23 at 4PM in our church with a truly memorable concert, “Legacy of Freedom” in the Hungarian spirit by the 50+ member Cleveland Women’s Orchestra with Alex Udvary on cimbalom and tenor Kyle Kevington singing Hazám, Hazám and other beautiful Hugarian songs. The program will honor the ’56-ers. A reception will follow in the church hall. Tickets are $10. , presale only. Tickets can be purchased at our church from Maria Megyimori after each Sunday Mass beginning today.
