ST. STEPHEN DAY HUNGARIAN FESTIVAL
AUGUST 19- – 20, 2017, SATURDAY, SUNDAY
This year we are planning a large scale Hungarian festival. We wish to not only nurture, but to also share the
wealth of cultural, gastronomical, and Christian traditions we are blessed with as Hungarians!
Saturday, August 19 — General admission $5.

We also welcome organization, business, or individual sponsors.
•Beginning at 12 noon, traditional Hungarian style foods will be for sale all day—
(goulash soup, stuffed cabbage, pork with sauerkraut, “lángos”, debreceni sausage, chicken
paprikash, “palacsinta” (crepes), Hungarian style doughnuts, Transylvanian style “kalács”,
“pogácsa”, and more… pastries, etc. )
•Opening ceremony at 3 PM for the programs
• A very large new bread to be blessed by the clergy of the various Hungarian churches
• On stage dances and folk costume display
• Live music: the Harmonia Ensemble will play all day
• Concert: Folksongs by the Holdviola Ensemble
• DJ: LászlóBohár – dancing for all following the concert
• Other musical programs: performance by the Hungarian Scout Regös group
• Lessons in folk dancing
• Presence of various Hungarian organizations, and the Bocskai Radio
•Tour of our church with organ music
•Bazaar—”Hungaricum” objects •Raffle
Sunday, August 20 —
• Sunday: 11AM Solemn Mass, followed by Agapé, closing of the Festival
