FROM THE DESK OF FR. BONA: (1) For the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the consecration of our church building we would like to display some pictures. These pictures would be of the church building, but also of the people in the church (such as your baptism, wedding, or other celebration). If you have a picture like that and would like to have it displayed on November 9, please contact Marika Megyimori or myself. Thank you.

(2) The music for today’s 11AM Sunday Mass is provided by our Youth choir.

(3) In this month of the Rosary I would like to share with you a modern Rosary miracle. In 1946, Austrian Franciscan priest Father Petrus Pavlicek, following an interior locution he received at the Marian shrine of Mariazell on February 2, 1946, which instructed him to “Do as I say and there will be peace,” initiated the Rosary Crusade for Peace in the World. This movement, inspired by the messages of Our Lady of Fatima, began in February 1947 and involved public Rosary prayers, processions, and rallies, initially held on the 13th of each month to commemorate the apparitions at Fatima. Despite initial fear and resistance, the movement grew, with participants including ordinary citizens, clergy, and high-ranking government officials. By 1955, the crusade had achieved significant momentum, with more than half a million Austrians—approximately one-tenth of the population—pledging to pray the Rosary daily for peace and freedom. This widespread devotion coincided with a period of intense Cold War tension, during which Austria remained under the occupation of the Soviet Union and the Allied powers. Despite over 260 failed peace conferences, the Soviet Union unexpectedly agreed to withdraw its forces in March 1955, leading to the signing of the Austrian State Treaty on May 15, 1955, which granted Austria independence and neutrality. Father Pavlicek and many Austrians attributed this outcome to the power of the Rosary and the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima. In gratitude, thousands participated in a massive torchlight procession in Vienna on October 26, 1955, carrying a statue of Our Lady of Fatima.

ROSARY: In the month of October, the Rosary is prayed at 10:25am on Sunday. If you come after 10:25, please feel free to join us in this prayer. Even the few decades of the rosary are worth praying.

MAJOR MAINTENANCE ISSUE: Our aging boiler (furnace) is on its way to break down. We had a leaking boiler for some time and were trying to fix it internally through chemical solutions, but it worked only for so long and is no longer a viable option. Presently, I am waiting for the third offer (as required by the diocesan policies). As you all know, it will be a major expenditure for us. If you could help with offsetting the cost, it would be greatly appreciated. Mark your donation with “new boiler.” Thank you to all of you who have already donated. God bless!

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY! We will have a second collection for the missions next Sunday, October 26. Your generosity supports the Pope’s missions in more than 1,124 territories where the Church is young or struggling. Thank you for your generosity.

LAST WEEKEND’S COLLECTION: Sunday Collection: $1,672; Maintenance: $415; Boiler cost offset: $2,035. May God reward your generosity in supporting the church. Thank you for sending in your donations by mail or using our website https://stemeric.com/donations/.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SICK, especially for Bev Kimar, Teréz Kalász, Lajos Boday, Márta Takács, Kathy Szabó, Alex Szaday, Virginia Kachmar, Margaret Falk, Mária Hokky, Balázs Bedy, and Sylvia Öszényi.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE DECEASED: Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen

THIS SUNDAY the 11:00 AM Mass from St. Emeric church will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/saintemeric/

LET US PRAY THREE HAIL MARYS FOR OUR PARISH EVERY DAY!
