Dear St. Emeric Parishioners! Dear Friends!
Farewells are never easy and so it was when we had to say farewell to Fr. András last Sunday. Today he is on his way back home to Hungary. For five years he was an outstanding leader, innovator, pastor, and person serving the St. Emeric Parish community, the University Hospital community and the Cleveland Hungarian community. His legacy for us is not to become only a memory, but rather a commitment to live what he taught us, steadfastness in our faith and commitment to our heritage. How appropriate today’s gospel and responsorial psalm is for us… “The seed that falls on good ground will yield a fruitful harvest.” May God bless him for all he has done here for us, and for all that he will do in his new church assignment in Hungary. He did say he will make every effort to be here next summer, 2021, at our St. Stephen Day Festival!
Okay, now what about us? This weekend Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Gary Yanus on Saturday at 5PM and Sunday at 11AM for which we are most grateful. We are also most fortunate that Fr. Richard Bona accepted to be interim administrator-pastor until a permanent assignment is made. Thank you, Fr. Richard. Please find the attached bulletin, noting that this coming week there are no weekday Masses, only weekend ones.
Please stay healthy and safe.
