FROM THE DESK OF FR. BONA: The month of October has been traditionally called the month of the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7. The practice of dedicating the entire month of October to the Holy Rosary developed toward the end of the 19th century. Pope Leo XIII in 1883, in his encyclical Supremi apostolatus officio, consecrated the whole of the month of October to the Holy Queen of the Rosary. I know that in the past we have prayed at times the Rosary before the Mass. To honor our Blessed Mother and to ask for her protection and help in our sanctification, I would like us to pray the Rosary communally before the Mass during the month of October. I would like to ask for volunteers who would like to lead the rosary during the four weekends in October. Please contact let me know if you are willing to do so. Thank you very much. God bless you all!! Fr. Bona
